Employment experts may not have been able to predict the events of this year, but 2020's upheaval may have buoyed learning trends already on the rise.

Employers were concerned about the lack of skills in the market, with experts claiming workers had "limited or no digital skills." Then the pandemic hit, and employer concerns were two-fold: work still had to go on, including jobs that required those in-demand digital skills, but employees also needed training to keep themselves and customers safe. And that doesn't even touch on the summer's events that prompted employers to reckon with race and diversity in new ways.
