Convenience retailer Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores announced Thursday it’s looking to hire 2,000 employees across a range of store and service departments during its two-day annual hiring event later this month.
The event will take place March 28 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Love’s stores, travel stops and truck service locations along with Speedco truck service spots across the U.S. Love’s Contact Center in Oklahoma City, which provides customer service for the company, will also accept in-person applications at the same time.
According to the event’s website, Love’s is looking to hire numerous roles including store clerks, service technicians, restaurant team members and warehouse associates. The company offers medical benefits, flexible scheduling and weekly pay for full-time employees, and offers medical benefits to select part-time employees, as well.
Love’s, which employs more than 39,000 people, is also playing up career development opportunities for prospective workers.
“As Love’s continues to grow, our national Hiring Day Event is a great way for new team members to start a career with a customer-focused company that offers growth and development,” said Les Thompson, Love’s chief human resource officer, in a statement.
Love’s kicked off its national hiring event back in 2019 and for the past two years has set a goal of hiring 2,000 positions. Recruiting and retaining workers has been a challenge for the c-store industry during the pandemic, with employee turnover hitting 150% in 2021.
Oklahoma City-based Love’s operates more than 600 travel stops and more than 400 truck care centers across the country.
