Dive Brief:
- CareerBuilder announced in a press release that it has launched a full suite of candidate and new hire management tools combined with an ATS and HCM designed to make recruiting more efficient. The company says its CareerBuilder Talent Discovery is aimed at reducing time to hire and the costs associated with recruitment.
- The company says the platform uses artificial intelligence to quickly match candidates with open jobs, then, using a central one-stop system, allows hiring managers to conduct everything from background checks to benefits enrollment.
- According to CareerBuilder research, nearly half of all employers surveyed have job openings that they are unable to fill due to lack of qualified candidates. Around 60% keep their openings available for 12 weeks or longer, costing their companies more than $800,000 each year.
Dive Insight:
The updated platform may be welcome news to those that are trying to modernize their recruiting technology to meet applicant needs. Many recruiters still use multiple systems to process background checks, assessments and track candidate progress through hiring cycles, which increases the risk candidates could fall through the cracks.
It will be interesting to see if the CareerBuilder update will, in fact, be able to validate the estimated cost and time savings as companies implement it. More employers are turning to high-tech hiring tools to find talent in a job seeker's market, especially with unemployment at deep lows. Machine intelligence is beginning to pick up basic tasks, such as scanning resumes, social media content and work samples.
CareerBuilder also may be stepping things up in an effort to compete with Google for Jobs, which is already seeing adoption by both job seekers and recruitment professionals.
